Divisions of Play

 

 

TEE BALL: LEAGUE AGES 4, 5 AND 6 

 

T-Ball Commissioner:

 

Players hit the ball from a positioned tee and all players bat through the order and play in the field every inning. The emphasis is on fun and to teach fundamental baseball skills. Games played on Saturday at the Crown Valley Fields, this year for 2017 we are offering one weekday evening practice as optional . Players do not go participate in on-field skill assessment and the league assembles the teams.

 

 

ROOKIE: LEAGUE AGES 6 AND 7 (AGE 8 Eligible ONLY if requested)

 

Rookie Commissioner:

 

Coach pitches to the players with a softer flexi-ball. All players bat through the order and play in the field every inning. Games played on Saturdays at Moulton Baseball Fields with one weekday evening practice at Moulton or La Paz (will play from 46’ pitcher’s mound and 60’ base paths). League age 6 players that played tee-ball last spring season in Rancho Niguel Little League may play in this division. Players do not go participate in on-field skill assessment and the league assembles the teams.

 

 

SINGLE A/MACHINE PITCH: LEAGUE AGES 7, 8 (AGE 9 Eligible ONLY if requested)

 

Single A Commissioner:

 

Manager pitch/transitioning to youth pitch: All players bat through the order and begin to understand the concept of strikes, balls pitched and outs, and free substitution in the field. Games played on Saturdays with one weekday evening practice at Moulton baseball field (will play from 46’ pitcher’s mound and 60’ base paths). All Single A players from last season plus new registrants league ages 8-9 are in the DOUBLE A division pool and may be selected to play in the DOUBLE A division.  Players ages 7 do not participate in on-field skill assessment and the league assembles the teams.  However,  players league ages 8-9 must participate in on-field skill assessment.

 

 

Double A: LEAGUE AGES 8, 9 AND 10 (Players must try-out and be Drafted to a team)

 

AA Commissioner:

 

Youth pitch: Traditional Little League rules generally apply except players bat through the order and free substitution in the field. Games and practices are at Crown Valley Field #1 (will play from 46’ pitcher’s mound and 60’ base paths) on weekday evenings and Saturdays. All AA players from last season plus new registrants league ages 9 - 10 are in the TRIPLE A division pool and may be selected to play in the TRIPLE A division. All players must participate in on-field skill assessment in December and teams are redrafted each year.

 

 

AAA: LEAGUE AGES 9, 10 (AGE 11 Eligible ONLY if requested)

 

AAA Commissioner:

 

Youth pitch: Traditional Little League rules generally apply except players bat through the order and free substitution in the field. Games and practices are at Crown Valley Field #2 (will play from 46’ pitcher’s mound and 60’ base paths) on weekday evenings and Saturdays. All AAA players from last season plus new registrants league ages 10 -11 are in the INTERMEDIATE division pool and may be selected to play in the INTERMEDIATE division.  All players must participate in on-field skill assessment in December and teams are redrafted each year. 

 

 

INTERMEDIATE 50/70: LEAGUE AGES 11, 12 AND 13

 

Intermediate Commissioner:

 

Intermediate division baseball: Traditional Little League rules generally apply except players bat through the order and free substitution in the field. Games and practices are at La Paz Sport Facility (will play from 50’ pitcher’s mound and 70’ base paths) on weekday evenings and Saturdays. All returning league age 12 Intermediate players from last season will play in the INTERMEDIATE division this season. All AAA players from last season plus new registrants league ages 11-12 are in the INTERMEDIATE division draft pool and may be selected to play in the INTERMEDIATE division. All players must participate in on-field skill assessment in December and teams are redrafted each year.

 

JUNIORS: LEAGUE AGES 13 AND 14

Juniors Commissioner:

Juniors division baseball: Traditional baseball: Home games will be played at La Paz Sport Facility (will play from 60' pitcher mound and 90' base paths). Youths participating in CIF baseball may play after the end of the CIF baseball season but MUST REGISTER by January 1, 2017. This program will involve inter-league play and travel to other cities. All players must participate in on-field skill assessment in December and teams are drafted each yearredrafted each year.
